WHO WE ARE

Message from Executive Director

We at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) are committed in supporting government’s aspiration to create a society that is responsive to emergency and safety issues. At AIT, we always strive to ensure that the government’s objective of protecting the people from crisis and tragedy through existing policies is achieved.

AIT sees our Safety programs as programs with high social impact in bridging knowledge and skills that can empower the youth and community. These programs are helping young people as well as the working community not only to prepare for the future but also to play an active role in shaping it. We seek to spark change within a community and improve the lives of others through our programs offering. We believe social impact education and training can equip the next generation of leaders with the skills, mindsets, and values to drive sustainable and inclusive solutions.

At AIT, we are focused in producing the skilled workforce that has the competencies, qualifications and skills that the industry desperately needs. The Fire Safety Industry in Malaysia in particular, will surely benefit from AIT’s efforts in creating a credible and competent workforce for the industry. On the other hand, our upskilling and reskilling programs are hoped to address skill gaps issues faced by the companies in Malaysia so that they can remain competitive by utilizing their existing talent with the up-to-date skills.

The collaboration that exists through various partnerships and cooperation with our smart partners and stakeholders is expected to help develop synergies between industry players, government agencies, and training providers like AIT. We hope that such professional connection and relationship will be long maintained.

May AIT continue to receive support from all parties in empowering TVET as well as Fire Safety and Protection in this country. My utmost gratitude to the AIT Advisory Board, AIT staff and esteemed friends involved in making this endeavour a success.

Message from Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

High social impact programs are our fundamental priority at AIT. We are committed in improving the quality of life of the vulnerable groups especially youth and the community through programs that are highly sought and required by the industry.

At AIT, we focus on key segment of training programmes which support the current and future industrial needs to ensure that the workforce development is equitable, responsive to labor market demands, and inclusive of certified skilled workforce.

AIT is the pioneer center in producing competent skilled workers for the nation especially for the Fire Safety and Protection System in Malaysia. Our Malaysian Skills Certificate programs in Fire Protection Installer and Active Supervisor are accredited by the Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources.

Our safety training programs on the other hand is certified by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), MOHR where we actively provide training for Occupational Safety & Health Coordinator (OSH-C) and the Safety & Health Officer (SHO) programs to individuals and working personnel.

We are also offering various training programs that are claimable under the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDCorp), MOHR. These programs are designed to assist employers in re-training and up-skilling their employees, an effort to make sure that their workforce stay relevant and to ensure they remain competitive.

As we move diligently to empower the local talents with these impactful programs, we are fortunate to have the support from our strategic partners and our industry linkages to help us widen our reach to realize our vision and plans through their constant contribution and knowledge-sharing with us.

Constant feedback from our strategic partners and industry linkages has enabled us to integrate enterprising education into our training programs which allow us to nurture enterprising mindset to our training participants and students. In a world that is increasingly characterised by complexity and change, the need for them to have this mindset and the latest skills are vital to contribute to the pool of workforce talent that are not only skilled, competent, certified but also is capable of improving their own socioeconomic status with the help of the cultivated entrepreneurial way of thinking.

We believe that the labor market in Malaysia will truly benefit from efforts taken by AIT in helping the industry and the country creating qualified, credible and competent skilled workforce that match the current demand and the need of the labor force.

May AIT continue receiving supports from all parties in empowering TVET and high social impact training programs in this country. My sincere appreciation to the AIT Board of Advisors, our excellent staff and my dearest friends for making this effort a great scale-up.
